Because of a traffic accident, the lives of slovenly taxi driver Fat and pregnant domestic goddess Ching have become entangled forever, as his soul entered her body, making her a 'scruffy mum' since then. While everyone else, including Fat's mum Nga, good friend 'Papa', cancer fighter/pregnant woman Ka Ning and garage worker Harry, cannot tell the difference, his alienated, paranormal-sensitive daughter Rene is able to see his soul. Fat must then work with Ching and learn to become an ideal wife and mother for her husband On and son Sing, while managing the challenges brought by her mother-in-law Mei Lai, and handling the family business of her sister Wai Yin, mother Tai and father Shing. This unusual journey of laughter and struggles has given the two a chance to learn from and help each other, making both of them better people as they strive towards the ultimate goal of bringing Ching's child into this world.
